Mabel Major, 83, of Bono, Arkansas passed from this life on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at her residence. She was born on August 16, 1930 in Warroad, Minnesota to the late Oliver and Edna Lamb. Mabel was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Jonesboro and retired in 1989 from St. Bernards Medical Center. She enjoyed being outside, gardening, traveling, and dancing. Mabel is preceded in death by her husbands; Elmer Maxwell(1955) and Robert Major(1987). Son; Reginald Hyde Maxwell. Brothers; Theodore Lamb, Lester Lamb, Eddie Lamb, Charlie Lamb, Joseph Lamb, and Leo Lamb. Sisters; Minerva (Knutson) Nelson, Veradell Gudvongen, Loria Lamb, and Stella Moen.

Mabel is survived by her daughters; Billie Jean “Jeannie” Bray (Jim), Shelley Dunn, and Juanita Wilcox (Dalton) all of Jonesboro. Brothers; Irire Lamb and Jimmy Lamb. Sisters; Etta Erickson, Ruthie Otto, and Clara (Burger) Felton. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Lawton, Oklahoma with Becker Funeral Home handling arrangements . A visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Arkansas on Friday, August 15, 2014.
