Mabel Bottorff

Mabel Alese Bottorff, 109, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Friday march 9, 2018 at her home. She was born December 12, 1908 to the late Charles Logan and Alberta Logan in the Stranger’s Home community.

Mabel moved to Jonesboro in 1941 from Alicia where she worked at Citizen’s Bank in downtown Jonesboro and was the first drive-up bank teller in town. She was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church. Mabel was very active in the church work where she taught Sunday School class, sang in the choir, and was even a charter member of the United Methodist Women’s organization. She loved reminiscing and telling stories of her childhood memories and how things were in “the old days”.

In addition to her parents, Mabel is preceded in death by her husband, William B. Bottorff; Brothers, Wylie Logan, Melvis Logan, Paul Logan and Tom B Logan; Sisters, Kathleen Logan, Bernice Cothern, Pauline Sahagian and Niece, Phyllis Lamberth.

She is survived by her Daughter, Patricia Marsh of Jonesboro; Nephews, Logan Cothern and Marty Logan; Nieces, Paula Figlar, Dorothy Linden, Jean Casserino and Judy Logan as well as Grandson, Brett Marsh.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dierksen Hospice and Lynda Young for their compassionate care for Mabel in her time of need.

Funeral Services for Mabel will be held at 1:30 pm Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Jonesboro with Rev. Kathleen McMurray officiating. Burial will follow at Stranger’s Home Cemetery.
