Lynda Turner Mccormack

Lynda Turner McCormack 70, of Jonesboro died Thursday evening at St. Bernard’s Medical Center.

She was born in Memphis, Tennessee and had lived in Jonesboro her lifetime. She was a decorator and a member of the Magnolia Road Baptist Church where she enjoyed preparing meals for Wednesday night. She also loved all animals, gardening, drawing, painting, reading and playing the piano.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Clarence and Mildred Graves Freeze, one son, William Blake Turner and one grandson Rex Nelson Turner.

Survived by her son, Joey Turner of Jonesboro and three daughters, Dede Turner Lee and husband Dr. Jay Lee, Lisa Turner Thrasher and husband Roddy Thrasher and Lynda Gail Turner Cooper all of Jonesboro. One brother, Don Freeze of Missouri.

8 grandchildren; J.T. Lee of Jacksonville, Florida, Britney Lee Christie and husband Michael Christie of Oakland, Tennessee, Chaning Cooper , Nile Thrasher, Chase Cooper, Reese Thrasher, Jordan Lee ,Austin Turner all of Jonesboro. One great-granddaughter, Lynlee Harper Christie of Oakland, Tennessee.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday May 10, 2010 at Emerson Memorial Chapel, with Brother Emil Williams officiating. Burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Active pallbearers will be J.T. Lee, Jordan Lee, Chaning Cooper, Chase Cooper, Nile Thrasher, Reese Thrasher, Austin Turner and Michael Christie.

Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Freeze, James Rollins, Ronnie Houston and Harry Showmaker.

Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. Sunday May 9, 2010 at Emerson Funeral Home.
