Luther Carroll "Sonny" Harris of Jonesboro went to be with our Savior on Thursday, Janaury 14, 2016, at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born November 25, 1945, to Edgar and Geneva Harris in Hornersville, Missouri.
Luther enjoyed driving his 18-wheeler, picking at the grandkids who he loved very much, helping folks who needed help and playing Santa, especially dirty Santa.
Luther was a truck driver by trade bus spent many years working on a river boat as a pilot and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Oak View Baptist Church near Greenfield.
Luther was preceded in death by his parents; his step father, Daddy'O, a sister, Loretta Yount and a grandson, Jeremy Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Dottie Harris of the home;
2 daughters and their families: Kim and Jerry Wrenfrow and Ronda and Jeff Wood of Missouri;
1 son, Charles "Randy" Harris of Mississippi;
1 step daughter and her family, Andrea and Tony Williams of Paragould;
1 step son and his family, Randy and Michelle Davis of Jonesboro;
11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Pavilion at Pine Log Cemetery, located on the north side of the cemetery near the church, with Jerry Thompson officiating.
Pallbearers include Jonathan Harris, Brandon Wood, Jimmy Wood, Zachary Harris, Tyler Williams, Tanner Williams, Trayce Williams, Kyle Williams and Logan Allen.
Visitation will be Sunday 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
