Luga Peraza, 92, peacefully passed away on October 15, 2025, at her home in Jonesboro. Luga was born in Sinaloa, Mexico, on September 14, 1933, to the late Rafael and Amelia Peraza.
Luga was a dedicated single parent raising four children. She was a fighter, overcoming struggles and adversity to give her family the loving life they deserved. Luga had a passion and talent for cooking. She worked in restaurants for many years and could make incredible tortillas from scratch. For 25 years, Luga’s son, Rafael, cared for her and kept her safe. She couldn’t have asked for better from someone who loved her and provided her with the best care. Rafael put his life on hold but never regretted a single moment. Luga will always be loved and deeply missed.
Luga was survived by her sons, Rafael and Raul Peraza; daughters, Alma and Minea Nieto Peraza; sister, Rosa Peraza; brothers, Rafael and Ramon Peraza; and grandchildren, Scarlett, Daniel, and Antony.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Emerson Funeral Home, with Brother Dale Blackwell officiating. A visitation will take place beforehand, from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. The burial will be private.
