Luejean Whittaker

July 26, 1943 — February 28, 2024

Luejean Whittaker, 80, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born on July 26, 1943 to Duel and Betty Price in Pocahontas. Luejean was a homemaker and loved to take care of her family. Some of her favorite times were the moments spent with her family. Luejean had a soft spot for animals, especially her two cats, LuLu and Charlie. She is preceded in death by her dad, Duel Price; and mom, Betty Lemmond (Howard).

Luejean is survived by her husband of 62 years, Neil Whittaker of Jonesboro; son, Michael Whittaker (Pamela) of Jonesboro; daughter, LuAnn Jones (Jason Pabst) of Kansas City, Missouri; sisters, Modene Gaulke of Montrose, Colorado and Patricia West of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Heather Hoagland (Josh), Kristin Jones, Kylen Whittaker (Benton), Emily Sparks, (William), and John Cameron Whittaker; and great grandchildren, Mia Hoagland, Heath Hoagland, and Alex Hoagland. Luejean also leaves behind a host of other family and friends to mourn her loss.

The visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m. on Friday evening at Emerson Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Emerson Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Lakeside Nursing Center and St. Bernard’s Total Life Healthcare for the excellent care that has been provided to Luejean.

Burial will be private.
