Lucy Mae Holden, 83, of Lake City, passed away on January 14, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 24, 1941 in Paragould to Bill and Lula Gatlin.
Lucy called Lake City home since 1971 and built her life around her family and her faith. A woman of strong faith, she was a lifelong member of Woods Chapel Baptist Church in Brookland and found great comfort in reading her bible. She loved spending time with family and cherished watching her children and grandchildren grow. Lucy enjoyed going thrift shopping and running her own thrift shop. She also loved spending hours working outside and tending to her flower beds.
In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her son, Chris Sims; granddaughters, Tiffany Cobb and Erika Blancett; and her three siblings.
Lucy is survived by her husband of 30 years, Barry Holden of the home; her children, Linda (Larry) Newcom of Jonesboro, Caroline (Becky) McAdoo of Jonesboro, Randy (Janet) Blancett of Lake City, Mark Blancett of Bono, Terri Carmichael of Lake City, and Kristi Ridge of Lake City; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Woods Chapel Baptist Church on Friday, January 17, 2025. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Rick Hathcoat and Bro. Danny Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Lake City Cemetery with Dylan Gibson, Derek Blancett, Colby Price, Thomas Henry, T.J. Henry, and Gage Sims serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include: Bryan Newcom, Jake Sims, Gatlin Ridge, Chandler Price, Christopher Curtis, Cameron Moore, Casey Moore, Alston Blancett, Kelton Sims, Tucker Gober, and Brody Gober.
