Lucille Mahon

Mrs. Lucille Mahon passed away peacefully at her home in Jonesboro on May 23rd.  Mrs. Mahon was born November 13,1919 in Hickory Ridge, AR and was a retired school teacher.  She retired at the age of 83 and had taught for 60+ years.

Lucille was a member of the First Methodist Church of Jonesboro.  Her hobbies she loved were working in her flower garden and feeding her birds and squirrels.

The family will receive visitors at 10:30 AM at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro, AR on Saturday, May 30th. A service will follow at 11:15 AM with Reverend John Miles officiating.  Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Lewis Cemetery in Hickory Ridge.  Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Long, Kenny Long, Brett Daughdrill, Jake Daughdrill, Bryon Daughdrill and Michael Goodwin.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Mahon and two brothers, O’Neal (Buddy) and Luie Lemke and two sisters, Juanita Bracy and Emma Argol. Survivors include her three children, Pat Long, Mickey Mahon, and Mitzie Streckert.  She also leaves five grandchildren, Laura Daughdrill (Bryan), Kevin Long (Debbie), Kenny Long (Kim), Heather Streckert and Michelle Goodwin and seven great grandchildren, Brett Daughdrill, Jake Daughdrill, Katie Long, Cloe Long, Jackson, Jordan Long and Michael Goodwin.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made in her honor to the First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro.

The latest Arkansas Health Department Directives for large gatherings in the state allows Emerson Funeral Home Chapel to accommodate a maximum of 150 persons simultaneously.  Face coverings must be worn to enter the building and social distancing will be in effect.
