Lucie Will Abel, 83, of Jonesboro died Monday, March 29 at her residence in St. Bernard’s Village. She was born on June 13, 1926 in Jones, Louisiana to the late Benjamin Franklin Morris and Minnie Maude Morris Moore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gerald Abel in 2007.

Lucie had lived in Jonesboro since 1980. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Friendship Sunday School Class and a past member of P.E.O. Chapter AJ.

Survivors include her son, Steve McFerron (Martha) of Jonesboro; step daughters, Margaret Abel and Tamara Winkler (David), all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; step son, Bryan Abel (Linda) of Coos Bay, Oregon; grandson, Matt McFerron, of New Orleans, Louisiana, step grandchildren Henry Abel of Bend, Oregon; Josh, Dusty and Kaycee Winkler and Khari W. Huff, all of Oklahoma City; Austin Winkler of Manhattan Beach, California; Jesse and Dylan Abel of Coos Bay; and four step great grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, April 3, at 11:00 AM in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Mausoleum with Reverend John Miles officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow immediately.

Visitation will be Friday, April 2, 2010 from 5 - 6:30 PM in the Honrs Room at the Jonesboro Country Club, 1408 E. Nettleton.
