Loyce May Morgan

Loyce May Morgan, 82, of Jonesboro passed from this life Thursday, August 8, 2019, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

She was born July 7, 1937, in Jonesboro to Dan and Ara Flemon. Loyce graduated from Bay High School in 1957 and she married the love of her life, Lavon Morgan, thereafter.

Loyce was a career military wife and homemaker, travelling the world with her husband and three sons. They returned to Jonesboro in 1979 when Lavon retired from the Air Force.

She was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Jonesboro. Loyce loved cooking, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Lavon Morgan; parents Dan and Ara Flemon; sister Joyce Taylor (Joe); brothers Garry Flemon, Barry Flemon, C.H. Flemon, Richard Flemon, and Michael Flemon. Loyce is survived by her sons Dan Morgan (Rhonda), Steve Morgan (Kim), and Billy Morgan (Athena); brothers Mark Flemon (Carla), Bill Flemon (Wanda), and Danny Flemon (Nancy); grandchildren Shalena Powell (Brandon), Nicholas Morgan (Baylee), Robert Morgan (Dawn), Christopher Morgan (Cheyenne), Amber Morgan, Casey Morgan, and Brandon Morgan; great grandchildren Claira Powell, Bennett Powell, Brantley Morgan, Laney Morgan, and Kayleigh Jo Morgan.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. N. Wayne Clark officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow in Keller's Chapel Cemetery.

Acting pallbearers are Brandon Powell, Nicholas Morgan, Casey Flemon, Christopher Morgan, Tim Eason, and Phillip Wilkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mount Carmel UMW, grandchildren, and Jimmy Barber.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2019, in the funeral home chapel.
