Lowell P. Tabor

January 18, 1927 — May 3, 2009

Lowell P. Tabor, 82, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, formerly of Jonesboro, died Sunday at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Oxford, Mississippi, Lowell lived much of his life in Jonesboro before moving to Dyersburg last year. He was a retired real estate agent and broker, an ordained deacon and a member of Windover Baptist Church of Jonesboro.

Lowell was a U.S. Navy veteran of W.W. II serving aboard the USS North Carolina.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Wheeler Tabor of the home;

1 daughter and son-in-law: Susan and Charles Halliburton of Dyersburg;

1 son and daughter-in-law: Steve and Kaye Tabor of Dyersburg, formerly of Jonesboro;

1 sister: Fairy Ward of Memphis;

7 grandchildren, and
7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, May 6, 2009, at 1:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Winfred Bridges and Bro. Harold Ray officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Pallbearers include Chuck Halliburton, Stephen Halliburton, Jason Denman, Malcolm Moody, Trey Shull and Eugene Tabor.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
