Louise Whittingham, 99, of Jonesboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 9, 2023. She was born in Trumann, on October 5, 1923, to Sam and Josie Huckeby.
Louise was a member of the Poplar Valley Baptist Church. She graduated from McCormick High School as the class Valedictorian and attended Arkansas A & M College in Jonesboro. She taught school at Maple Grove Elementary in Trumann. She was a seamstress by trade but her favorite thing to do was cooking for, and being with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Whittingham; sister, Polly Gott; great granddaughter, Whitney Rogers; son-in-law, Robert Douglas.
Survivors include her sons, David Whittingham and wife, Diane; Ricky Whittingham and wife, Pam all of Bono; Dr. Jeff Whittingham and wife Rachel of Greenbriar, Arkansas; daughters, Jo Ann Douglas of Bono; Debra Lewis and husband Perry of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Sandy Rogers, Christopher Lewis, Amy Reeves, Casey Tate, Kevin Whittingham, Kayla Patterson, Abigail Whittingham and Maggie Whittingham; and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Gary Cremeens officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery with Terry Barnett, Eric Isbill, Bert Greenwalt, Ronnie Lumley, Jimmy Martin, and Tom Fielder serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Gary and Genice Holland, Wayne Tate, Martha Phillips, Ken Winningham, Jim and Linda Bradley, and Gerald George. Visitation will be from 10:00 until service time.
