Louise Theresa Mcghee

Louise Theresa McGhee, 93, passed from this life on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Louise was born in Louisville, KY on May 8, 1929 to the late Edward and Mary Dolle. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Herman Dolle; sisters, Mary Poggenberg and Shirley Watson; husband, James Fletcher McGhee; and sons, Mike and Bobby McGhee.

Louise lived most of her life in Jonesboro after moving here from Louisville in 1956. In her younger years, she was a banker in Louisville and worked for the city clerk’s office in Jonesboro. Louise was a giver. Whether it be volunteering at All Saints Lutheran Church or helping organize a local Easter egg hunt, she was always happy to help. One of her favorite things was crafting. Sewing, cooking, and needle point, she could do it all. The ultimate crafter, Louise could make anything. She would make blankets for veterans and hand them out at local nursing homes. Most importantly, Louise loved being with her family.

Louise is survived by her sister, Doris Morris of Louisville; son, James Wayne McGhee (Cathee) of Trumann; daughter, Linda Wolf (Ray) of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Ashley Barker, Haley Barker, Darla Barker, and Jared Wolf (Kayla); great-grandchildren, Carly, Layne, and Connor; and great-great-grandchild, Gwendolyn.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at All Saints Lutheran Church. A visitation will precede the service from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
