Louise Bolton, 94, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Friday, August 21, 2020. She was born to the late Charlie Long and Pearlie English Long on November 24, 1925 in Poinsett County. Louise was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Jonesboro for close to 50 years. She loved her flowers and gardening, as well as working for Dillard’s and Sam’s Club, and traveling with her late husband, Thurman. In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by her husbands, Lawrence Alumbaugh and Thurman G. Bolton; son, Donald W. Jones; and four brothers and four sisters.
Louise is survived by daughter-in-law, Barbara Jones; step sons, Larry Alumbaugh (Katherin) and John Alumbaugh (Joni); step daughter, Shirley Smith; grandchildren, Julie Hoover (Larry), Jill Hudson (Jay), Eric Alumbaugh (Melissa), Ryan Alumbaugh (Ashley), Jacob Alumbaugh, Mary Despain, Joe Despain (Angela), and Tara Smith (Jeremy); great grandchildren, Abby Hoover, Hudson Hoover, Claire Hoover, Connor Hudson, Kendle Hudson, Evan Hudson, Claire Alumbaugh, Carlie Alumbaugh, Colton Alumbaugh, Declan Alumbaugh, Jerry Holden III, William King, Ivan Despain, Aubree Despain, Riley Smith, and Maddie Smith.
The visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August, 24, 2020 at Emerson Funeral Home.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2020 at Emerson Funeral Home with Robbie McMasters officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park with the active pallbearers being Perry Long, Joey Long, Joe Despain, Eric Alumbaugh, Ryan Alumbaugh, Steve Long, Jay Hudson, and Connor Hudson. For those wishing to leave a lasting memorial the family requests that donations be made to Louise’s church: Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 610 Powell Drive, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401.
