Louie E. Harris, 78, of Jonesboro, died Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Continued Care Hospital. He had lived all of his life in Northeast Arkansas. Louie was a member of the Community of Christ Church. During his work career, he worked at Bridger/Marliss/Sukup and the Fasweet Corporation. He had creativity and passion for wood working and pen making. The quality and perfection shown in his wooden and acrylic pens was amazing. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Norene Harris; and a brother, Charlie Harris.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Virginia “Ginger” Harris, of the home; son, Mark Harris (Joyce) of Harrisburg; daughter, Kim Brack (Shannon) of Jonesboro; brothers, Ronnie Harris (Traci) of Cocoa Beach, Florida; Gale Harris (Paula) of South Haven, Mississippi; sister, Jeanice (Joe Von) Lesley of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Monica Harris, Michael Harris, and Will Brack; and one granddog, Oscar.
Funeral services will be 10:00 Monday, December 3, 2018 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Wayne Heidelberg and Mike Johnson officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Keller’s Chapel Cemetery with Will Brack, Michael Harris, Justin Harris, David Harris, Ernie Cullum, and Robert Johnson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jake Morse, Tom Morris, Terry Kirksey and the Community of Christ Men’s Sunday School Class. Visitation will be from 5-7 Sunday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
