Lou Taylor

Jonesboro – LULA MULDROW MONTGOMERY TAYLOR, 82, died February 11th at her daughter’s home in Bartlett, TN after multiple strokes.

Her rehabilitation after a hemorrhagic stroke four years ago was heroic. She advanced from being comatose to walking with a walker, exercising at the Bartlett Senior Center, attending the Church of the Nativity and the Gourmet Club in Bartlett, traveling and proudly walking down the aisle at three of her grandsons’ weddings.

Lou was the devoted daughter of the late Robert and Kathleen Montgomery andthe loving wife of the late Conner Taylor to whom she was married for 58 years. She was born in Centreville, MS and graduated from high school in Crawfordsville, AR. She attended Southwestern University and the University of Arkansas where she was in the Delta DeltaDelta Sorority.

While raising children with Conner in Blytheville, AR, Lou was active in the First Presbyterian Church, Junior Auxiliary, P.T.A. and Regent of the local D.A.R. After moving to Germantown, TN, she embarked upon a real estate career which she continued for a time in Jonesboro where she lived for 35 years, made many friends and was active in the community. She served on the Allocations Committee of the Jonesboro United Way, was twice president of Chapter AJ of P.E.O. and was a Deacon and Elder of the Presbyterian Church of Jonesboro but always said that family comes first.

The family she leaves includessister, Kathleen Montgomery of Cordova, TN; daughter, Susan Madonia Klein and husband, Frank, of Bartlett, TN; son, Robert Montgomery Taylor and wife, Anne of Newark, DE; and five grandchildren: Chase Conner Madonia and wife Jennyand Marc Richard Madonia of Memphis;Paul Taylor Madonia and wife Stacey of Cordova; Ryan Montgomery Taylor and wife Angie of Wilmington, DE and Leigh Anne Taylor of Newark.

Lou was also mother to the late Kathy Jean Taylor of Jonesboro. Visitation will be held at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro on March 1st from 5:00-7:00pm preceded by the private commitment of her cremains at Jonesboro Memorial Park. Lou’s Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, March 2nd at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Jonesboro at 710 Southwest Drive 72401.
