Lou Ella Cook

Lou Ella Cook passed away on October 2, 2024. She was born to Myrtle and Carl Sandefur on April 23, 1935, in Jonesboro, AR. She spent most of her life in Jonesboro. She retired from the food service industry at Arkansas State University in 1999. Her greatest delight was spending time with her family and working in her garden. She was a member of Mr. Carmel Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Cook, and sons, Joe Dell Cook and Terry Lew Cook. She is survived by her son Larry Cook of Paragould; daughters Theresa Kirksey of Little Rock and Tara Harrelson (Tim) of Weiner; grandchildren Hope Cook, Terry Cook, and Jerry Cook all of Jonesboro, Bryan Kirksey of Brookland, Zachary Kirksey of Flora, IL, Billy Kirksey of Palm Coast, FL, Terry Cook Jr of Kentucky, Grace Harrelson and Tyler Harrelson both of Weiner; many great-grandchildren; and host of family, friends, and loved ones.

A graveside service and burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on October 5, 2024, at Herndon Cemetery. Lou Ella’s grandchildren will be honorary pallbearers.
