Lorene Whitehead

Lorene Whitehead, 82, of Jonesboro went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born December 8, 1931 in Cherry Valley, Arkansas to the late Harry and Tarley Damron. Lorene spent most of her life residing in Jonesboro. She was a very devout Christian and was also a member of First Baptist Church. Lorene spent 32 years working at Southwestern Bell were she later retired. She was also an avid reader and loved to cook. Lorene was a very loving woman who devoted her life to her family.

Lorene is survived by one son: Danny Lynn Hall of Quitman, AR; two daughters: Brenda Lorraine Herget of Memphis, TN and Annette Leonard of Charlotte, NC; two brothers: Herman Damron and Henry Damron, both of Wynne, AR; three sisters: Dorma Lee Tims of Memphis, TN, Ella May Ross of Cherry Valley, AR, and Barbara Ann Ridge of Weiner, AR; three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Emerson Funeral Home with Reverend Bruce Tippit officiating. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014 until the service time.
