Lorene Widner Murley

Mrs. Lorene Widner Murley, 88, of Jonesboro, formerly of Portageville, MO and Blytheville, AR passed away June 16, 2008 at her residence. She had been a resident of Jonesboro for the past 20 years.

Mrs. Murley was born February 17, 1920 in Dell, AR to the late John William & Kitty Avitts Widner. She was a retired bookkeeper and had been a Luzier cosmetic consultant for many years. Her greatest joy was being with her family. She was an active member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Murley; her parents, John & Kitty Widner; and her brothers, John William (Dub) Widner and Guy Leroy Widner.

Mrs. Murley is survived by her children, Russell Moore and wife Nancy, Bowling Green, KY; Kaye Chitmon and her husband Wendell, Jonesboro; and Terra Tiffany, Taos, NM; sister, Hazel Ensor, Sikeston, MO; brother, David Widner, Columbus, MS; 8 grandchildren, LCDR Keith Chitmon (Leigh Anne), Kristy Reed (Kurt), all of Jonesboro, Maj. Wayne Chitmon (Ashley), Layton, UT; Dov Moore (Linda), Dr. Echo Moore, all of Bowling Green, KY, Devon Moore, Clarksville, TN; Kalila Tiffany, Ezra Tiffany, both of Fayetteville, AR; 9 great grandchildren, Kailey Chitmon, Austin Chitmon, Riley Reed, Decker Reed, Jessica Moore, Sawyer Moore, Emily Lorene Moore, Connor Chitmon, and Kaicey Chitmon.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tommy Toombs officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
