Lorene Alexander

Virginia Lorene Alexander, 88, of Jonesboro, entered the gates of
Heaven on Friday, October 23, 2015 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Lorene loved cooking and reading God's Holy Word. She was of the Pentecostal faith and had attended The Jonesboro Church of God, The Rock and Victory Lighthouse Pentecostal in Jonesboro. Lorene worked as a CNA at Rose Skill Care Nursing Home for many years, retiring when her health failed.

Born in 1927 to Henry and Elizabeth Laxson Jones, she spent her
childhood in the Brookland area. Her parents preceded her in death as
did two sons, Ronny Dale Pruett (2015) and William David (Bill) Pruett (2013). She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Ernest, Kenneth, Odell and Murrell Jones, four sisters, Ortha Mae (Dorothy) Shaw, Lucille Spurlock, Maxine Elrod, and Anna Sue White.

Survivors are her son, Jim (Mavis) Stark of Jonesboro, one brother,
Bill Jones of Campbell, Texas, daughter in law, Margo Pruett Adams, of Jonesboro, six grandchildren, Michelle Cliff, Brendan Pruett, Melissa St.Clair, Alicia Langhans, Kristin Hedge and Brent Adams. She also is survived by nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Lorene also leaves behind several nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 29, 2015, from 5:00-7:00 at Emerson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday October 30, 2015 at Pine Log Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Winningham officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, nieces and grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandson. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in Lorene's honor.
