Loraine White

Loraine (Hardy) White passed away September 14, 2012 at the age of 72 years, 1 month, and 17 days. Mrs. White was employed by Sodexo of Jonesboro as a utility worker. She also worked for 12 years as a truck driver. She had lived most of her life in the Jonesboro area.

Loraine was preceded in death by her parents, John & Mary Stringer Hardy; 3 brothers, Jessie Chesser, Jim Hardy, and John Alvie Hardy; and 1 sister, Cora May Maness.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jim H. White of the home; one daughter, Melinda Mercer of Paragould; one sister, Lillie Bishop of Clarksville; 3 grandchildren; one great grandchild; a host of friends, relatives, and her lifelong best friend, Carolyn Wise of Bay.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jim Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Monday 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
