Lonnie Schales

Lonnie Schales, 80, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday July 2, 2013 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born in Newport and had lived in Jonesboro since 1955 and was a member of the Community of Christ Kids Bible Club.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Austin & Bessie Schales; his wife of 55 years, Betty Louann Schales; one son, Johnny Ray Schales; one grandson, Kegen Schales; and one brother, Dewey Schales.

Survivors include two daughters, Lou Ann Lasley (James) and Darla Ann Crawford of Jonesboro; a sister, Georgia Lee Farrington of Searcy; 12 grandchildren, Misty, Bobby, and Roxy Crawford (DeeDee), Johnny Schales Jr., Codi Howell (Jeffery), Loni June Norwood (Justin), Heather Millsap, Chris, Tiffany, and Dennis Lasley and Casey McCann (Anthony); and 20 great grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held at 5:00 p.m., July 15, 2013 at the Community of Christ Kids Bible Club, 108 W. Woodrow St. in Jonesboro.
