Lonnie Reeves, 86, of Bay passed from this life Sunday, October 19, 2014 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born to the late Jesse and Elvia Reeves on October 8, 1928 in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Lonnie lived most of his life in Bay and he was also a member of the Bay Church of Christ. He was part of the graduating class of Bay High School in 1949. Lonnie served in the military and fought in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW. Lonnie worked for GE for 35 years before he retired. Lonnie loved farming, hunting with his bird dogs, and spending time with his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years of marriage, Jackie Reeves of the home. 1 son; Kent (MaryBeth) of Marshall Texas, 1 daughter; Terresa (Tim) Isbell of Bay, 2 sisters: Goldie Heath and Myrtle (Doug) Norwood all of Bay, 3 grandchildren: Julie Beach of Jonesboro, Kendra (Austin) Skipworth of Houston, Texas, and Taylor (Josh) Jeffrey of Waco Texas, 4 great grandchildren: Shelby Blankenship, Laney Blankenship, Lila Beach all of Jonesboro, and MaryKate Skipworth of Houston, Texas.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bay Church of Christ with Mark Brewer and Marvin Rickett officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, at Emerson Funeral home from 5-7 p.m.
