Lonnie Ray King, Sr.

April 19, 1950 — February 23, 2020

Lonnie Ray King, Sr., 69, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Sunday, February 23, 2020, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in the Gilkerson community southwest of Jonesboro, Lonnie was a 1968 graduate of Valley View High School and lived all of his life here. He was a truck driver over 20 years for Gateway Tire Company and retired from Arkansas State University's First National Bank Arena where he worked in maintenance and allied services. Lonnie was a veteran of the Arkansas National Guard and was a long-time member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Lonnie enjoyed watching TV Land and especially Andy Griffith shows as well as spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Donald R. and Lillian Gallion King, sister Sheila King-Dickerson and brothers Lowell King, Gary King, Allen King and Edwin King.

Survivors include his wife Lana King of the home;
2 daughters: Kristy King-James of Jonesboro and Lisa Angel of Bono;
1 son, Lonnie Ray King, Jr. and wife Jamie King, both of Jonesboro;
3 sisters: Lila Huddelston of Brookland, Nora Davis (Phil) of Dallas, Texas, and Darlene Harrison (Rip) of Jonesboro;
3 brothers: Larry King, Wyndell King (Vicki) and David King (Pat), all of Jonesboro;
5 granddaughters: Megan Parker (Matt), Emily James, Lilly King, Claira King and Georgia King, all of Jonesboro;
1 grandson, Benjamin James of Jonesboro;
4 great grandchildren: Riley, Raylee, Bailey and Jackson Parker of Jonesboro; and
numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Wynndel King officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park. Pallbearers include Larry King, Matt Parker, Gary Gipson, David Tyler, Jerry King and Dustin Tubbs.
Visitation will precede the funeral service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
