Lonnie Dale Elder, 82, of Brookland passed from life Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Nea Baptist Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born to the late Enith Ross Sr. and Mae Elder on January 28, 1935 in Brookland.
Dale resided most of his life in Brookland while being a faithful member of Brookland United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and going hunting with his brothers. Dale spent his life as a State Certified Real Estate Appraiser, realtor, and builder.
In addition to his parents, Dale is preceded in death by his two sisters: Hazel Salings and Betty Johnson; and four brothers: Charles Elder, Lestel Elder, Ross Elder Jr., and Bobby Elder and two twin great grand daughters: Alle Lynn and Ella Rose Elder
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Irene Elder, of 65 years of marriage; three sons: Rickey (Vicki) Elder of Brookland, Mickey (Paulette) Elder of Brookland, and Wyndol Elder of Paragould; one daughter: Dian (John) Street of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.
A visitation will be Friday, December 29, 2017 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Emerson Funeral Home with David Head officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with active pallbearers being grandsons: John Street, Ben Elder, Clinton Elder, Jacob Elder, Spencer Elder, and Josh Carr.
Honorary pallbearers: the three granddaughters Nicole Jacobs, Brooke Sloan, and Cherish Swan, and the rest of the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
