Lola Edith Sharp

August 26, 1926 — January 5, 2010

Edith Sharp, 83, of Jonesboro, formerly of the Pleasant Plains and Batesville areas, died Tuesday at St. Bernards Medical Center. Ms. Sharp moved to Jonesboro in 1982 and worked at the Area Agency on Aging in Jonesboro for 10 years.

She was a member of Southwest Church of Christ. She was an avid reader and shopper, loved traveling, going to the movies, and she enjoyed spending time with family and with her beloved pets.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Bill Travis; a daughter of the heart, Sue Bilyeu; grandchildren, Will Travis, Jonesboro, Jennifer Newton and Tonya Guthrie, both of Alabama, Terrie Rolland of Monette, and Lisa McCluskey of Lake City; nine great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Morgan and Kitty Dove Wright Aunspaugh; one brother, Claude Aunspaugh, and one sister, Vera Price.


Funeral services will be Thursday in Emerson Memorial Chapel at 1 p.m. with Mr. E. Winston Burton officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Thursday from noon until service time at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
