Lola Lesley, 73, of the Finch community in Greene County, died Friday, June 12, 2009, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.
Born in Harrisburg, Lola lived much of her life in the Trumann-Jonesboro area before moving to Finch 20 years ago. She worked as a nurse’s aide and care sitter for several years and operated a flea market in Finch.
Lola was a member of Landmark Worship Center in Trumann and enjoyed collecting dolls. She was preceded in death by 2 husbands: Joe Smith and James Lesley; by 4 children: Donnie, Mary, Carolyn and infant son Lesley; by 4 sisters: Lucille, Glenda, Luella and Betty; and by a brother: Edward.
Survivors include 4 sons: George Smith of Jonesboro, James Lesley of Houston, Texas, David Lesley of San Diego and Ronnie Lesley of the home;
2 daughters: Margarett Jones of Paragould and Debra Gamboa of San Diego;
2 brothers: Johnny Barnes of Trumann and Jerry Barnes of Cave City;
5 sisters: Wanda Halsey, Francis Battles, Molly Rasdin and Kay Rogers, all of Trumann, and Sue Carter of Elkhart, Indiana;
8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:00 at Landmark Worship Center in Trumann with Rev. Bill Nunally officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery south of Harrisburg with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening, 5-9, at Landmark Worship Center.
