Lois Golden, 76, of rural Jonesboro, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
Born in Savannah, Tennessee, Lois moved to Arkansas at an early age and lived in Trumann before moving to the Jonesboro area in 1961. She was a homemaker and an active member of New Harvest Family Worship Center. She was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, cousin and aunt. She enjoyed being with her family and friends throughout her life. She will be dearly missed.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James Golden, a son, Ray Golden, a granddaughter, Jessica Russell, her parents Tim and Mary Lou Austin and 2 sisters: Josephine Austin and Lois' twin sister, Joyce Austin.
Survivors include 2 sons: Milburn (Patti) Golden of Jonesboro and James A. (Sherri) Golden of Paragould;
3 daughters: Diane (Dewayne) Russell, Sherry (Curtis) Tomey and Lindy Mashburn all of Jonesboro;
Ray's daughter, Alexandrea Golden of Fayetteville, who helped fill the void in Lois' life after Ray's passing;
1 brother: Larry (Judy) Austin of Jonesboro;
3 sisters: Kathleen "Tooter" Smith of Paris, Tennessee, Kay (Paul) Kirby of Weiner and Mary Ann Austin of Tulot;
15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Marty Russell and Bro. Joe Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in Rutherford Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include grandsons Michael Golden, Jason Golden, Jimmy Golden, Jeremy Russell, Jonathan Russell and Dylan Mashburn. Charles Doyle will be an honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening, 5-7 at Emerson Funeral Home.
