Obituary

Pearl Elizabeth “Liz” Minton, 83, of Bono, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born on September 16, 1943, in Thayer, Missouri, to the late Earnest and Pearl Sauser.

Liz was a graduate of Thayer High School and a faithful member of the Bono Church of Christ. She was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her home and family. When her children were young, she enjoyed sewing and making clothes for them, a reflection of the love and care she put into everything she did.

An avid quilter, Liz was a member of the Loose Threads Quilt Club, where she shared her passion for quilting and formed many treasured friendships. She enjoyed the creativity and fellowship that quilting brought into her life. Liz also loved traveling with her husband, Dan, and together they made many wonderful memories. Although she continued to travel after his passing, she always felt the journeys were never quite the same without him by her side.

Above all, Liz cherished her family and the life she built around them. She found happiness in the simple joys of home, family, and the friendships she made throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dan Minton; brother, Walter Sauser; and sisters, Evelyn Fugitt and Grace Mainprize.

She is survived by her son, Alan Minton (Tammy) of Bono; daughter, Michelle Rise of Madison, Alabama; grandchildren, Kyle Minton, Leah Rise, Leland Rise (Chadoe), Luke Rise (Ashley), Clint Rise (Kimberly), and Lilly Heath (Alex); and great-grandchildren, Annaliese Rise, Ozzy Rise, Maverick Rise, Matilda Rise, Briar Rise, and Millie Heath, and more on the way.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Old Enterprise Cemetery.
