Lindsay Danielle (McCormick) Emfinger aged 37, passed away suddenly on March 11th, at St. Bernards Hospital. She was born on January 10th 1986, in Jonesboro, AR, to Jerry and Debbie McCormick. She was a proud resident of Jonesboro and a graduate of Arkansas State University where she met her future husband. Lindsay married Nick Emfinger on April 5, 2008, in her hometown. She worked as an accountant with Mirtech Harvest, displaying wonderful problem-solving skills and a quick wit.
Lindsay was very outgoing and loved going on adventures with her kids. Her family, especially her boys, and the great outdoors were her two biggest passions and they would all spend many a weekend at her parent's cabin. She was an avid reader with an extraordinary collection of novels, particularly about vampires. Lindsay always had the ability to make anyone smile with her sarcasm and occasionally irreverent sense of humor. One of her favorite quotes was “Curiousity about life in all its aspects, I think, is still the secret of great creative people.” -Leo Burnett. Lindsay always strove to find and understand the truth in all things, light or dark, and she faced that knowledge with kindness and exuberance.
She is survived by her husband, Nick Emfinger; two sons, Conner and Rhett Emfinger; parents, Debbie and Jerry McCormick, a younger brother, Josh (Alysia Boylan) McCormick; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Rita Emfinger; brother and sister-in-law, Ryan and Brianna Emfinger, their children Ellis and Cameron Emfinger, maternal grandmother, Shirley Conner; paternal grandparents, Janette and Ervin McCormick; grandparents-in-law, Bobby and Jeanette Emfinger and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lindsay is predeceased by her older brother Jared McCormick and maternal grandfather Bill Conner.
Family and friends are invited to the Emerson Funeral Home, 1629 E Nettleton Ave, Jonesboro, AR 72401, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15th for the visitation and services to follow at 6:00 p.m., to reminisce and honor the life of Lindsay.
In lieu of flowers, any donations to the NEA Humane Society would make her happy.
