Linda Sue Ladyman

Linda Sue Ladyman, 73, of Jonesboro, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born on October 25, 1950, in Fayetteville to the late James and Claudia Powell, Linda was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed crafting and spent much of her time volunteering at the Human Development Center and with the Special Olympics. A member of Stoneridge Church of Christ in Jonesboro, Linda was deeply involved in the life of her son Heath at JHDC. She grew up in Fayetteville, attending Fayetteville and Elkins High Schools, and it was there she met the love of her life, Jack, while he was attending the University of Arkansas. Linda and Jack were married on March 21, 1970, and their marriage endured for 54 years. Linda cherished her grandchildren and her beloved dog, Yawnnie.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by many who held her dear.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jack Ladyman of Jonesboro; her three sons, Heath Ladyman of the home, Corey Ladyman, and Jeff (Ashlee) Ladyman, all of Jonesboro; her four grandchildren, Gabrielle, Cameron, Brett, and Jaxon, all of Jonesboro; and her siblings, Jimmy (Shirley) Powell, Janice Powell, and Russell (Terry) Powell, all of Fayetteville.

Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Emerson Funeral Home, with a funeral service following at 3 p.m. officiated by Dick Blackford and Earl Ladyman. Interment will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Corey Ladyman, Jeff Ladyman, Phillip Ladyman, Paul Ladyman, John Street, and Dustin Mangrum. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Spencer, Cameron Davidson, Colton Ladyman, Russell Powell, Jimmy Powell, and Anthony Hitchcock.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Jonesboro Human Development Center Volunteer Council, 4701 Colony Drive., Jonesboro, AR 72404.
