Linda Faye Kniker, 77, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, peacefully passed from this life on Monday, December 9, 2024. She was born on March 6, 1947, in Braggadocio, Missouri, to the late William and Georgie Short.
Linda dedicated much of her life to nurturing others. She worked for an adoption agency in St. Louis, lovingly caring for newborns until they were placed in their forever homes. Her passion for children extended into her role as a foster mother, where she provided a safe and loving environment for many children over the years.
Linda found joy in simple pleasures and creative pursuits. She was a talented seamstress who enjoyed sewing clothes, a collector of beautiful dolls, and an avid thrifter who loved visiting antique shops. She cherished gospel music, western movies, and, most importantly, spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents and 12 siblings.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Carol Schultz of Paragould, Arkansas, and Theresa Kemp (Nicholas) of South Carolina; her brother, Bob Short of Blytheville, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Justin Schultz (Magen), Katherine Britt, Mitchell Bryant, Kevin Bryant, and Dylan Nico Kemp; and her great-grandchildren, Madilynn Britt, Blakely Williams, Geneva Britt, Genevieve Britt, Stetson Schultz, Saylor Schultz, Madison Bryant, Delanie Bryant, and Dalton Bryant.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
Linda’s life was a testament to love, faith, and family, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
