Linda Gail Kious

Mrs. Linda Gail Kious of Jonesboro Arkansas departed this life at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital on June 27th, 2023 at the age of 71. She was born to Dewey H. and Lula Lee (Shurbert) Melson on March 19th, 1952.

Mrs. Linda originally from Savannah, Tennessee met her husband, Mr. Larry Wayne Kious, there and they moved to Jonesboro where they spent the next 45 plus years married together. Mrs. Linda worked as a school cook in the Jonesboro School District until her retirement.  She was of the Pentecostal belief, but spent the last few years attending New Life Fellowship Church. Mrs. Linda loved cooking for herself and her family. Mrs. Linda especially loved the Sunday tradition of her family coming over to her house and preparing a meal for everyone.

Mrs. Linda is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is also preceded by her 2 sisters; Alma Lee Hopper and Juanita Johnson. 2 brothers; Dewey Ledford “Led” Melson and Benton Edward Melson.

She is survived by her 2 sons; Bruce (pending partner Lydia) Kious and Aaron (Charlea) Kious; 2 sisters; Evelyn Chalk and Lula May Ray; 2 brothers; Tommy Jack Melson and Milton Lee Melson. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren.
