Linda Carol Hensley, 70, of Brookland passed away from this life on April 19, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House from complications of Dementia, Diabetes and a massive stroke with the family at her side. Linda was born in Walnut Ridge on April 25, 1946 to Alden and Maureen Golden Simmons. She lived in Brookland since1996, moving there from Jonesboro.
She was of the apostolic faith and would attend Christian Life Center in Brookland. Linda worked as an assembler for Lincoln/Walker Jacks for 27 years. She enjoyed when she was able working in the garden, fishing, taking care of her dogs, feeding and watching her hummingbirds.
She was preceded in death by her father Alden Simmons.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Boyce Hensley of the home.
Daughter, Sheila Wheaton (Shane) of Jonesboro.
Mother, Maureen Simmons of Walnut Ridge.
Brothers, Larry Simmons (Barbara) of Horseshoe Bend, Gary Simmons (Lila), Eddie Simmons all of Egypt, Danny Simmons of Jonesboro, David Simmons (Barbara) of Walnut Ridge, Dewayne Simmons (Melinda) of Pocahontas and Joey Simmons of Alicia.
Sisters, Carolyn Britt (Edward) of Walnut Ridge, Patti Burns (Gerald) of Jonesboro and Lynnette Colley (Larry) of Hoxie.
Sister in law, Betty Noel of Jonesboro.
Many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday April 23, 2017 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Scott N. Trayler officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Log Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Saturday April 22, 2017 at Emerson Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Calvin Simmons, Jason Britt, Edward Britt, David Simmons, Luke Carmer and Leyton Carmer.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Christian Life Center.
