Linda Gage, 76, of Jonesboro, died Monday of natural causes at her home.
Born in Providence in White County, Linda has lived in Jonesboro since the 1950s. She worked several years as a para-professional for the Jonesboro School District, assigned to Jonesboro High School, Annie Camp Junior High School and West Elementary School. Following retirement, she worked in day care centers working with children.
Linda was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church where she was a Senior Ladies Sunday school teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jesse O. and Thamar Herrington Betts, her husband, J.C. Gage, 2 brothers: Omer Betts and Charles Betts, and 2 sisters: Ruth Sellers and Mary Katherine Bowie.
Survivors include:
1 daughter, Rebecca (Roger) Field of Jonesboro;
3 sons: Terry (Penny) Gage, Steve (Dawn) Gage and Craig (Donna) Gage, all of Jonebsoro;
3 sisters: LaVerne Spence of Illinois, Arena Belle Auten of Sparta, Illinois, and
Carol (Marshall) Gordon of Conway;
10 grandchildren: Brooke (Brody) Belk, Drew Gage, Anna Gage, Rachel Gage, Abby Gage, Josh Gage, Luke Gage, Zack (Kayla) Isbell, Joey (Megan) Isbell and Jaylena (John Paul) Wallin; and
7 great grandchildren: Adalynn Isbell, Colby Isbell, Ian Isbell, Isaac Ibell, Makenna Isbell, Daniel Isbell and Jace Belk.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Walnut Street Baptist Church with Dr. Glenn Putman and Rev. Jerry Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Zack Isbell, Drew Gage, Joey Isbell, Josh Gage, John Paul Wallin and Brody Belk.
Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
