Linda Darlene Cater

Linda Darlene Cater,72, of Jonesboro, Arkansas departed this life on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Unity Health Hospital in Newport. She was born October 7, 1950 to the late Raymond and Rhosialee Gray.

Linda was a foster parent to lots of children and one of the only ones in the state to take in teenagers. She loved to travel, take care of animals, and spend time with her grandchildren, and family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, David King.

She is survived by; her husband, Bobby Cater of Jonesboro; one daughter, Angie Weston (Shannon) of Jonesboro; two brothers, Leon Gray of Paragould, Dr. Brian Gray (Renita) of Jonesboro; one sister, Patricia King (Laverne) of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren, Matthew Nelson of Jonesboro, Chris Weston of Jonesboro, Amanda Fortson (Tyler) of Oxford, MS, Connor Weston of Jonesboro, Willowmena Weston of Jonesboro, James- David Weston of Jonesboro, Michael Weston of Jonesboro, Maddox Weston of Jonesboro, Rhiannon Weston of Jonesboro; and her very special former foster daughter, Liberty Simpson (Travis) of Piggott , and her children, David, James, Beth, and Esther Simpson all of Piggott.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 19, 2023 starting at 1:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel, services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Andy Neal officiating. Active pallbearers will include; Brandon Applewhite, Corey Baker, Christoph Miller, Travis Simpson, Tyler Fortson, and Matthew Nelson. Burial will be at Pine Log Cemetery following the services.
