Linda Fay (Anderson) Hare, 78, of Lake City, Arkansas, graduated to Heaven on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

She was born on November 1, 1947, in Caraway to Rev. Raymon and Julia Anderson of Caraway. Linda was a member of Central Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and going to Hardee’s to eat breakfast with her friends.

She was a stay-at-home mom for many years. She later worked for a time at the shoe factory in Blytheville. After moving back to Caraway, she received her GED and continued her education by completing cosmetology school in Marked Tree. She worked at several salons in the surrounding area and even set up her own beauty shop in her home.

Linda was very talented. She sang alto in church but was most often found playing the piano during services for many years. She never read music but played beautifully by ear. In addition to her many talents, she was brave enough to master and solo fly a Cessna 150 in the late 1970s, a rare feat for a woman at that time.

She also loved going to the beach and attending Gene Watson concerts with her friends, Deloris and Sandy.

Linda lived in many places throughout her life, including Caraway, Dell, Gosnell, Harrisburg, Illinois, Little Rock, Manila, and Jonesboro, before finally settling in Lake City to be near her children.

She is survived by her children, Pat McCormick (Derek), Mark Douglas (Jennifer), and Greg Douglas (Ann), all of Lake City; two stepdaughters, Paige Womble (Jody) and Jill Hare, both of Little Rock; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of six and a half years, Robert Sheldon Hare; two brothers, Eldon Anderson and David Anderson; one sister, Lena Mae Anderson; and one grandson, Traven Weaver.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Emerson Memorial Chapel beginning at 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with burial at Nettleton Cemetery in Jonesboro. Bro. Stan Ballard will officiate.

Active pallbearers will include Daniel McCormick, Hunter Douglas, MJ Brewer, Neal Rhudy, Ronnie Rosamond, and Brian Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Branscum, Joseph Loya, Tony Austin, her Hardee’s breakfast bunch, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

All those wishing to honor our mom’s memory are encouraged to wear any shade of blue to her service.
