Lily Jane Reaves Anzalone

November 4, 1920 — June 15, 2011

Lily Jane Reaves Anzalone, 90, of Lake City, died Wednesday June 15, 2011 at the Lakeside Nursing Center. She was born in Bethel community southwest of Harrisburg and had lived in Lake City since March of 2010. She had lived in Jacksonville, Arkansas, Memphis, Tennessee before settling on Long Island, New York.

She worked there as a bookkeeper and business administrator for the West Hempstead School system in West Hempstead, New York, for 31 years, retiring in 1987.

She married in 1957 to Francis (Frank) Anzalone who passed away in 1986. She was a confirmed member of the Catholic Church in 1980 at the age of 59 (considered a highlight). She moved to Belleville, Illinois in 1995 and Premium, Kentucky in 1999 before returning to Arkansas at the Sunshine Manor in Paragould in 2008. She then moved to the Lakeside Nursing center in March of 2010.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Earl Reaves and her parents Nora and C.W. "Charlie" Reaves.

Survived by one brother, Dale Reaves of Jonesboro, nieces and nephews, Charles Reaves and wife Joe Ann of Rogers, Arkansas, Bettye Darter and husband John of Jonesboro, Rebecca Simmons of Rector, Donald Reaves and wife Donna of Roland, Arkansas, Linda Grant and husband Gene of Brookland, Ronald Reaves and wife Janis of Rainbow City, Alabama and Glenda Wallace of Brandon, Mississippi, and some step-nieces, a host of grand and great – grand nieces and nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 25, 2011 at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
There will be no visitation.
