Lilly Fay Stanfill, 72, of Jonesboro, died Friday, January 25, 2013, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
Born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Lilly lived in Doniphan, Missouri before moving to Jonesboro 42 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the Nettleton Worship Center. She enjoyed computer work and playing with her grandchildren.
Lilly was preceded in death by her parents: Ernest M. and Gladyes Emery Gobel, and a daughter, Joyce Murlee Aldridge.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Jimmy Stanfill, of the home, married October 3, 1968;
3 sons: Daniel Mayo Stump of Jonesboro, James Darnell Stanfill of Doniphan, and Ernest Derrick Stanfill of Texarkana;
2 brothers: Donald Leroy Gobel of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Earl Charles Gobel of Jonesboro;
2 sisters: Helen Darlene Putman and Joyce Vivian Busby, both of Jonesboro; and
12 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include nephews Earl Dan Jordan, Dewey Robert Nail, Shannon Eugene Jordan, Donald D. Busby, Donnie Busby and Dewayne Busby. Derrick Stanfill will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be held Monday evening, 5-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
