Lillian E. Butler

June 11, 1930 — February 17, 2009

Lillian E. Butler, 78, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday at her daughter’s home in Jonesboro of natural causes.

Born in Lake City, Lillian lived in Jonesboro and Batesville most of her life. She worked several years as a restaurant manager for Coleman’s Bar-B-Q in Jonesboro and Batesville. She was a member of In His Steps Ministry of Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Butler, by two sisters: Mildred Stewart and Edna Gatlin, and by a granddaughter, Whitney Johnson.

Survivors include: 4 daughters: Barbara Payton of Silsbee, Texas, and Glenda Thomas, Bonita Pace and Pam Simmons, all of Jonesboro;

2 sons: James Martin of Cleveland, Ohio, and Dennis Pace of Warren, Michigan;

2 brothers: James Stewart of Lake City, and Richard Stewart of Jonesboro;

18 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include: Leif Lovins, Josh Barber, Kyle Cantrell, Ryan James, Brandon James and Frenando Valencia.

Honorary pallbearers include: James and Richard Stewart.

The family extends a special Thanks to Gail Blalock, St. Bernards Hospice personnel and Dr. Michael Crawley.

Visitation will be held Friday morning, 10-11, at Emerson Funeral Home.
