Lillian K. Cartee-Shipley

April 12, 1939 — July 9, 2019

During the evening hours of July 9th, 2019, Lillian Katherine (Cakie) Cartee-Shipley was called
home by the Lord. She was surrounded by some of her dearest family and friends in her home.
Although Cakie was diagnosed with cancer just a short time ago, she did not lose her battle to
it. She possessed a positive mindset and a fighting attitude when it came to her cancer.
Cakie was born on April 12th, 1939 in Elvins, Missouri. She was retired from Brown Shoe Co. in
St. Louis, MO where she was a very successful business woman. Along with her business
endeavors, she was a world traveler. To say that she was full of knowledge and wisdom would
be an understatement. No matter where she was, she was hands down the most insightful
person in the room. She possessed the most generous spirit. No matter who it was, Cakie was
always there to lend a helping hand, this especially applied for the ones she loved and cared for
the most, her family.

Cakie was preceded in death by her mother, Mable Sullivan Cartee, and her father, Jesse
Cartee. Along with three brothers, Jimmy, Eugene and Jack. Her husband, Roy Shipley, and her
three fur babies, Charlie, Suzette and Chloe .

Cakie did not have children of her own, but is survived by her fur babies, Frankie and Johnny.
She is also survived by many beloved brothers and sisters: Henry and wife Barbara Cartee,Joan
(Sissy) Henson, Faye and husband Bob Darnell, Clark (Bunky) and wife Diane Cartee, Sue Burns,
Paula Bishop, and Gary and wife Diane Cartee. Of her many nieces and nephews: Kara Dawn
and husband Dean Rickvalsky, Kristen Leigh Counce, and Jerri Lynne and husband Doug Tyler.
And her beloved grandchildren: Madison Bishop, Rusten Counce, Lincoln Tyler, Maddox
Rickvalsky and Rogan Tyler.

The family will gather for a private celebration of her life at her home at an undetermined date.
There will be a graveside gathering at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Park Hills, Mo. at an
undetermined date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Northeast Arkansas
Humane Society.
