Liane Susan Neshat, age 61, of Jonesboro died Thursday, November 5, 2020 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Liane was born in Santa Monica, California on December 30, 1958 to George Phelps and Marion Sexton.

Liane loved her family and would stop at nothing to provide for her children. Her greatest joy was her three kids and granddaughter, and she was proud of all of them and their accomplishments.

Liane promoted peace, justice, and equality. She supported the arts, was fascinated by science, never put down a good book, and was a fan and supporter of everyone she surrounded herself with.

She was a beloved supporter of small and local businesses and had a tremendous impact on the lives around her.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Almon Phelps, mother Marion Sexton and husband, Amir Masoud Neshat.

Survivors include:

2 daughters: Ahzahdeh Suzan Neshat, age 31 of Los Angeles, and
Ariana Yasmine Neshat, age 19, of the home;

1 Son: Armeen Mehran Neshat, age 29, of Los Angeles;

2 Brothers: George Laurence Phelps age 71, of Pasadena, California, and Robert Almon Phelps, age 69, of Conway, Arkansas;

1 Sister, Denise Deziel, age 73 of Windsor, Ontario;

3 Nieces: Tara Cubie, age 41 of Irmo, South Carolina, Laura Cavanagh, age 33 of Mountain View, and Neda Neshat, age 25, of La Jolla, California;

1 granddaughter: Zahra Kashmir Weston, age 4, of Los Angeles;

1 Great Niece: Paulina Cubie, age 14, of Irmo, South Carolina;

1 Great Nephew: John Cubie, age 3, of Irmo, South Carolina;

1 son in law: Jared Weston, age 36, of Los Angeles; and

1 cherished kitten: Luna.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Emerson Memorial Chapel.

All other services are private.

The latest Arkansas Health Department Directives for large gatherings in the state allows Emerson Funeral Home Chapel to accommodate a maximum of 150 persons simultaneously. Face coverings must be worn to enter the building and social distancing will be in effect.
