Letha Ramelle Matthews

Letha Ramelle Matthews, 80, of Trumann, Ar, died Sunday, April 1, 2012, at the Lakeview Manor Nursing Center in New Roads, La.

Born in Lester, Letha lived much of her life in Dixie, Lake City, Lunsford and Trumann before moving to New Roads in 2004. She had worked at American Greetings in Harrisburg and Frolic Footwear in Jonesboro before retiring. She was a member of Lunsford Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Matthews, by her parents, Charles and Mattie Fletcher McDuffee, and by a brother, Wayne McDuffee.

Survivors include 4 daughters and their husbands: Sandra and Louis Scott of Lettsworth, Louisiana, Patricia and Kent LaBorde of Simmesport, Louisiana, and Debra and Brian Sellers and Dorothy and Kenny York, all of Trumann;

2 sons and their wives: Timmy and Jennie Rogers and Ricky and Jackie Rogers, all of Lettsworth;

3 step sons and daughters-in-law: Johnny and Joe Anne Matthews of Harrisburg, Rickey and Lesley Matthews of Independence, Louisiana and Billy and Nell Matthews of Sevierville, Tennessee;

1 sister-in-law: Paula McDuffee and 1 niece: Joy McDuffee, both of Pensacola, Florida;
18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 in Lunsford Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers include grandsons Matt York, Josh Scott, Adam Scott, Lucas Scott, Richard Rogers, Kenny Rogers and Jason Rogers.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
