Leslie Wayne Foster, Sr.

November 2, 1939 — September 1, 2009

Leslie Wayne Foster, Sr., 69, of Paragould, died Tuesday at Baptist Hospital-East in Memphis.

Born in California, Leslie lived in Black Rock and Pocahontas before moving to Paragould 9 years ago. He was retired from Civil Service assigned to military bases and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He attended the Pentecostal Church and enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Kay Foster, of the home;

2 sons and daughters-in-law: Leslie, Jr. and Toni Foster of Black Rock, and Matt, Sr. and Niki Foster of Paragould;

1 brother: Bobby Foster of Oxnard, California, and
1 sister: Mary Ann Betts of Portia; and

3 grandchildren: Les Foster, III, Khristian Foster and Matthew Foster, Jr.

Graveside services will be held Friday September 4, 2009 at Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery in Walnut Ridge with Brother Harold Russell officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Leslie Foster III, Khristian Foster, Anthony Baker, Darryl Baker, Judd Schugg, and Darrell Aikman.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to the American Cancer Society.
