Lesia Carol Hay, 51, of Jonesboro, died Saturday of natural causes at her home.
Lesia was born in Jonesboro and lived much of her life here. She was a Christian and worked several years for Heritage Corporation in Jonesboro before becoming disabled. While at Heritage, Lesia received many awards and citations for her work and assistance. Lesia was known for her kindness and generosity; she was always willing to help others.
Lesia was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Southard Cox, a brother, Keith Phelps and a granddaughter, Noel Eve Hay.
Survivors include 2 sons: Bobby (Veronica) Hay of Paragould, and Nick (Stephany) Hay of Oklahoma;
Her long-time friend and companion, Ray Riga of Jonesboro;
Her children's father, Donnie Hay of Conway;
Her father, Robert (Dianne) Phelps of Jonesboro;
3 sisters: Marsha (Tim) Fry and Teri (Ronnie) Holder, all of Jonesboro, and Ashley (Michael) Allen of Brookland;
2 grandchildren: Hunter Hay and Alesia June Hay; and
Her best friend and cousin, Denice (Willie) Correa of Harrisburg.
Graveside funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in Pine Log Cemetery with Rev. Steve Farmer officiating.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
