Leroy Lairson

Leroy Lairson, 78, of Trumann passed from this life Sunday, February 2, 2014 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Leroy was born February 26, 1935 in Trumann to the late Jack Lairson and Jewell Tackett. He lived all his life in Trumann where he was also a member of Church of God of Prophecy. Leroy enjoyed fishing, trotline fishing, and coon hunting. He also loved the sport of boxing and playing his guitar in his spare time. Leroy loved his wife and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Leroy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lavern Lairson; parents; one brother, Walter Lairson; and four sisters, Clara Carol, Mary May, Vernice Lairson, and Evelyn Manley.

Leroy is survived by 3 sons, Troy Lairson of Trumann, Roy (Jerita) Lairson of Midland, Tx, and Kevin Lairson of Trumann; one daughter, Debbie Lairson of Jonesboro; one brother, Alvin (Judy) Tackett of Harrisburg; one sister, Bea (Jerry) Murphy of Trumann; Grandchildren: Sherry Lynn Doyle, Tracy Halfacre, Stacy Lairson, and Lauren Lairson. Great grandchildren: Beth Taylor, Hannah Miller, Christian Miller, Gavyn Goforth, and Bennett Halfacre. Great, great grandchildren: Haley Taylor and AJ Taylor.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Church of God of Prophecy in Trumann with Brother Larry Tribble officiating. Pallbearers will include: Danny Simmons, Carbert Rodgers, Rick Pillows, Gary Ivy, Nicky Meeks, Shannon Tribble, Jason Coin, and Paul Carter. Honorary pallbearers will include Nathaniel Tackett, Levi Tackett, and Leroy’s Sunday school class. Burial will follow at Herman Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Trumann from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
