Leonard Rose

Leonard “LC” Rose, 80, of Jonesboro passed from this life at his residence on Saturday, June 16, 2007. He was born in Nettleton where he lived most of his early years after marrying his loving wife, Goldie Rose of 54 years. Later moving to Brookland where they raised their seven children.

He retired from Hytrol Conveyor Company Inc. in 1989 after 20 years of service. He had also retired from Home Ice Company after 20 years of service.

He enjoyed gardening, being outside and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Lain and Lucy Rose, two brothers, Cloia and Melvin Rose; one son, Buddy Rose; and one daughter Leota Rose.

He is survived by his wife, Goldie Rose, of the home; one son, Lonnie Rose, of Trumann and his wife Donna; four daughters, Mary Reed of Bono and her husband, Donald; Helen Lee of hardy, and her husband Leamon; Sherry Byrd of Byhalia, Mississippi, and her husband Charles; Connie Matthews of Brookland and her husband Mike; three sisters, Leota Perrin of Jonesboro; Juanita Vowell of Paragould, Arkansas; Elizabeth Roach of Lepanto; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be at Emerson Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, 2:00 P.M., with Brother Charles Privett officiating. Burial will be in Pine Log Cemetery near Brookland with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be all his grandchildren, Amos Chambers, III, David Reed, Jennifer Chambers, Shannon Reed, Megan McCamey, Lonna Rose, D. J. McCamey and Michael Matthews. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Marc Monte, Dr. James Robinette, Jerry Stallings, Neal Presley, Joe Byrd and Jackie Reed.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 Monday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
