Leonard Earl Maggard, 80, passed from this life December 26, 2020 at the Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born June 20, 1940, in Brownbranch, Mo, to the late Woodrow Maggard and Gerty Butler. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Maggard; four brothers, Johnny Jones, Don Lee Maggard, Ronnie Maggard, and Rex Maggard; and one sister Phyllis Williams.
Leonard lived the majority of his life in NEA. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent much of his time hunting and fishing. Leonard wasn’t someone that liked staying still for too long. He always kept himself busy, especially by working on cars. Most importantly, Leonard loved being with his family, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
Leonard is survived by his son, Wayne Maggard of Trumann; daughters, Linda Hastings of Trumann, Vicky Maggard of Trumann, and Ronda Smith (Billy) of Beach Grove; brothers Russel Maggard, of MO, and Joe Galloway, of Dogpatch, AR; 10 grandkids and 14 great-grandkids.
A visitation will be held at Emerson Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 6pm to 8pm. A funeral service will follow the next morning, December 30, 2020 at 10am. A burial at Willis cemetery will be directly after the service.
Due to COVID 19 guidelines, facemask must be worn while at the visitation and service.
