Leo R. Dale, 93, of Jonesboro passed from this life August 3, 2016 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born in Hale Center, Texas December 8, 1922 to the late John Robert Dale and Sallie Rogers Dale.

Leo has resided in Jonesboro for the past thirteen years after coming from Monument, Colorado. He loved the Lord and served as an active member of Central Baptist Church.

Leo Dale was one of the soldiers who survived the attack 74 years ago at Pearl Harbor while being stationed at Ford Island. Leo was active duty military while serving as a pilot during World War II and the Korean War early on in his career. He served in the Mission Service Corps prior to moving to Jonesboro. He was the president of National Active and Retired Federal Employees from 2002-2008, N.A.R.F.E.
In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by his son Lawrence Raymond Dale.

Leo is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Lillie Dale; one daughter: Lynn (Willie) Freeman of Amelia Island, FL; one brother: Bobby Dale of Granbury, TX; two grandchildren: Warren of Washington, DC and Darin (Tiffany) Freeman of Pittsburgh, PA; and one great grandchild: Nolan Freeman.

A visitation will be from 10 -11 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Emerson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. August 6, 2016 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Darin Freeman and Pastor Mike Martin officiating.
For lasting memorials the family asks that donations be made to either the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House or the Central Baptist Church Missions Fund or The Gideons International.
