Lela Mae Montgomery

Lela Mae Montgomery, 83 of Jonesboro, passed from this life Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at her home. She was born the late Russell L. and Della M. Thetford Watkins, May 22, 1931 at Cash, Arkansas. She graduated from Cash High School and was a member of Herman Baptist Church. She worked for Arkansas Glass and retired from Colson Caster Corporation. Lela loved her yard work, tending to flowers and growing tomatoes.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Della Watkins; her husband of fifty-five years, Clettis James Montgomery, and sister Martha Decker.

Lela is survived by daughter, Melissa Montgomery Lewis of Memphis, TN, granddaughter, Corena M. Montgomery Lewis of Memphis; two stepsons, James Montgomery of Walcott and Gary Dale Montgomery of California, brother, Lester Watkins, of Cash, AR. Additional survivors include her special uncle Daniel and Clytie Thetford of Cash, cousin Loretta Thornton of Bono; and her dog Heidi.

Visitation will be Friday evening April 3, 2015 from 5-7 pm at Emerson Funeral Home. Service will be Saturday April 4, 2015 at 1pm at Emerson Funeral Home with Shawn Brandon officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park with Emerson Funeral Home in charge
